Your privacy and safety matter
How we collect, use and protect the information you share with us.

If you are worried someone is watching
Anyone who uses this device may be able to see the websites you visit. If you are concerned, use a private or incognito window, or a device the other person can't access, such as a library or work computer. The Quick Exit button leaves this site immediately, but it does not erase your browser history.
If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
Daughters of Zion Global Initiatives, Inc. ("Daughters of Zion," "DoZ," "we," "us") is a faith-based nonprofit serving women, youth and families. Many people who reach out to us are going through something painful or unsafe. We collect as little information as we can, and we treat what you share with care.
This policy explains what information we collect through this website, our contact form, our events and our giving options, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you choose to give us
When you fill out our contact form, we ask for:
- Your name
- Your email address and phone number
- Your message, and the topic you're contacting us about
- Whether you'd like to receive updates from us (optional)
You never have to tell us more than you're comfortable sharing. You may use a first name only or a nickname, and you can tell us the safest way and time to reach you. We also collect information you share with us by email, by phone, when you register for or attend an event, or when you become a member or volunteer.
Information collected when you donate
We accept gifts through Cash App, Givelify and online giving. These services are run by other companies, and your payment details (such as your card or bank information) go directly to them, not to us. We receive a record of your gift, which may include your name, email address, the amount and the date, so we can thank you and send giving receipts. Each payment service has its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to read it:
Please note that Cash App payments may be visible to others depending on your Cash App settings. If privacy is a concern, check those settings before you give, or contact us about other ways to give.
Information collected when you buy DoZ Gear
Shirt orders are placed through our online store, which runs on WooCommerce. To fill your order we collect your name, email address, phone number, shipping or pickup details and the items you bought. Your card details go directly to the payment processor, not to us. The store uses cookies to remember your cart and keep checkout secure. We use your order information only to fill and follow up on your order, and we keep order records for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes.
Information collected automatically
This website does not use advertising, tracking pixels or analytics tools, and it does not set its own cookies. Like most websites, a few things happen automatically when you visit:
- Our web host keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visited, to keep the site running and secure.
- Google Fonts supplies the fonts on this site, so your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address.
- Google Forms powers our contact form. When the contact page loads, Google may set its own cookies and collect information as described in Google's privacy policy.
How we use your information
- To respond to you and provide the support, resources or referrals you ask for
- To process and acknowledge donations and provide giving receipts
- To organize events, membership, volunteering and partnerships
- To send you updates and event news, only if you asked to receive them
- To keep our website and records secure, and to meet our legal obligations
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We will never share your story, photo or name publicly without your permission.
When we share information
We share information only when it's needed to help you or to run our organization, and only with:
- Service providers that help us operate, such as Google (contact form and email), our web host, and our payment services. They may use your information only to provide their services.
- Partner organizations or agencies, such as a shelter or counseling service, but only when you ask us to connect you and agree to what we share.
- When the law requires it. We may have to share information to comply with a court order or other legal process, or when we're required to report suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult. We may also share information if we believe someone is in immediate danger. When it's safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you first.
Keeping your information safe
We limit access to your information to the DoZ team members who need it to help you, and we use password-protected accounts to store it. No method of storing or sending information online is completely secure, so please share only what feels safe. Email and text messages can be seen by anyone with access to your device or account; if that's a concern, tell us the safest way to reach you.
How long we keep information
We keep contact messages only as long as we need them to help you and follow up, and then we delete them. We keep donation records for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see "Your choices" below).
Your choices
- See, correct or delete your information. Email us and we will respond as soon as we can. We may need to keep some records, such as donation receipts, when the law requires it.
- Stop updates. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying "unsubscribe" or by emailing us.
- Contact us safely. Let us know if we should not leave voicemails, send texts, or use a particular email address or phone number.
Children and teens
This website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
If you're a young person who is not safe, please reach out to a trusted adult or call the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-422-4453.
Links to other websites
Our site links to other websites, such as hotlines, payment services and social media. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page.
